Care must be taken to ensure that students of all ages can safely use the adhesives indicated.
Although some adhesives are made from non-toxic natural products, they should not be swallowed. All adhesives must be used strictly in accordance with the directions on the label.
Where there is any doubt reference should be made to the MSDS. Hot melt adhesives must not be used by students K-2. Any adhesive with a solvent other than water may only be used by students Year 7 and above.
Adhesives containing urea/formaldehyde or cyanoacrylates must be used in a well-ventilated space to minimise exposure. Solvent vapours can be toxic if inhaled over an extended period. Solvents in contact cements are flammable and should not be used near to ignition sources.
Wallpaper adhesive must not be used by students K-2.

Adhesives may be used for administrative purposes.
