Use in a fume cupboard if practicable, otherwise use small quantities in a well-ventilated area. Use eye and skin protection when splashes are possible.
Carry out the preparation of this material only on a small scale (<2 g dichromate salt), and react the product carefully with dilute alkali immediately after completion of the experiment.
