Slightly toxic if ingested.
Do not attempt to reduce to copper metal in a "thermite" reaction with aluminium metal, since the process is extremely violent. Great care must be taken if reducing copper oxide with magnesium or hydrogen. Can be safely reduced with carbon or zinc. Can be reduced to metal on charcoal blocks.

Disposal: Solid waste of this chemical may be disposed of in the garbage (to landfill).
