Forms explosive mixtures with combustible materials or organic compounds. Forms explosive mixtures with active metals such as magnesium, sodium and aluminium, with inorganic reducing agents such as ammonium salts, sulfides, thiosulfates and acetates, and with almost all organic compounds, especially esters. If testing with a burning wooden splint for the evolution of oxygen on heating the solid, ensure that the splint does not fall into the molten salt, otherwise a violent reaction will occur.

Disposal: Waste solutions of this chemical may be disposed of down the sink (to sewer).
