Use in a fume cupboard if practicable; otherwise use small quantities (<100 mL or g) in a well-ventilated area. Use eye protection where splashes can occur. Substitute 1-aminobutane, which is less volatile.
Note: A solution/mixture of <20% 1-aminopropane is not hazardous according to the Worksafe list of designated substances.
