Highly flammable; avoid inhalation of vapour; skin irritant.
Use in a fume cupboard if practicable, otherwise use small quantities in a well-ventilated area.
Use eye and skin protection when splashes are possible. Substitute heptane, octane, or a higher boiling light-petroleum fraction; substitute cyclohexane if a solvent of similar volatility is required.

Note: A solution/mixture of <5% hexane is not hazardous according to the Worksafe list of designated substances.
