Harmless.
Do not heat salts of mercury, lead or cadmium on charcoal blocks due the possibility of inhaling fine particles or vapour of toxic metals (e.g. mercury, lead). Ensure that smouldering carbon blocks are extinguished before they are put away; by soaking for 24 hours then storing in a steel tray, otherwise a fire may result. The use and storage of charcoal drawing sticks should be considered as a normal stationery item (when used for that purpose) and used by students K-12.

Disposal: Solid waste of this chemical may be disposed of in the garbage (to landfill).
