Hazardous Chemical
II 1389
11110-52-4
Highly toxic if ingested due to mercury; reacts with water to form highly corrosive sodium hydroxide. Corrosive to skin. Use eye and skin protection when splashes can occur. Do not dispose of waste material into the mercury residues bottle until all the sodium has reacted with water; this can be achieved by placing the amalgam in a beaker of water and adding an iron nail.
